We visit the art room for this week's Wow Wednesday! 3rd and 5th grade artists have been weaver achievers in the art room! Students are creating beautiful woven pieces of art using cardboard looms and the simple pattern of over and under. They look forward to finishing these masterpieces and bringing them home soon!
The School Board has voted to move the last day of student classes to Friday, May 26, 2023 - requiring students to make up two of the five days missed due to weather. Staff will report through Friday, June 2, 2023.

Looking for something fun to do as a family?
Come to Harvey Dunn for a fun night of family Bingo on Friday, April 14th from 6:45-7:45pm. (Doors open at 6:30.) Families can bring a book or two to add to the book table. We are especially in need of some great chapter books for 2nd through 5th grade. When you win, choose a new book from the book table to bring home and read! Popcorn and water will be for sale for $1.
Students in 303 engaging in a Who Would Win bracket. Two animals were announced and students chose which animal they thought would win. Small groups were formed on each side. Students worked together to defend their opinion in a debate. After hearing both sides, students could change their vote. Every student is a winner for their hard work!
K01 is looking for signs of spring! Students created caterpillar art in response to The Very Hungry Caterpillar book by Eric Carle.

Fun Space Fact: Being an astronaut takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and training. How do you become an astronaut? In order to be an astronaut, people must go through a competitive selection process. In 2021, 12,000 people applied, and only 10 were accepted. What are the requirements? Basic requirements, according to NASA, include US citizenship and a master's degree in a STEM field, like engineering, biological science, or computer science. Astronauts must be in good shape and able to pass NASA's demanding physical exams.
There is no school Friday, April 7th and Monday, April 10th for Spring Break. School resumes on Tuesday, April 11th.

Fun Space Fact: Did you know that astronauts need to exercise an average of 2 hours in space each day? They run and lift weights to keep their bodies healthy. Of course, lifting weights and running looks different in space because there is no gravity!
Our Wow Wednesday this week highlights our PTA Fun Run. The students and staff are doing an amazing job! Thank you PTA for organizing this event and Mr. Q for facilitating this event!
